Gagik Tsarukyan was born on November 25, 1956 in the village of Arindj in the Abovyan region.

In 1989 he graduated from Armenian State University of Physical Education. He was a teacher of physical education and sports, wrestling coach. A world champion of 1996 and 1998 Europe champion in arm-wrestling. The president of Armenian National Olympic Committee. He was awarded with “St. Grigor Lusavorich” order in 2002 and “Movses Khorenaci” medal in 2003.

In 1989-1990 he was a chief engineer of Yerevan cattle-breeding veterinary hot-house, in 1990-1992 executive director of “Armenia” enterprise. Since 1992 he has been promoting a farming and entrepreneurial activity, has formed a cattle-breeding complex and dairy products enterprise. (Abovyan region, Arinj village). Since 1995 he is a president of branchy concern “Multi Group” which is formed from several enterprises ( 1996 Abovyan factory of “Kotayk” beer, Abovyan factory of measuring equipments, Yerevan chemical pharmaceutical company, 1997-1998- “Mek”  network of furniture stores, 1998- “Aviaservice” JSC, “Aviasnund” enterprise of “Zvartnots” airport, 1999-2002 – “Multi Leon” network of gas-filling, petrol  stations, 2002 – “Multi Stone” stone processing company, “Ararat”  brandy-wine-vodka plant, 2003- “Ararat”  cement factory).

2003-2007 National Assembly deputy. Gagik Tsarukyan has been elected as NA deputy on May 12, 2007 from #28 electoral district.

Mr. Tsarukyan is married and has 6 children.
