On 27 of December, after long preparatory work, the representatives of European Youth Forum, Student Forum of Armenia, Youth Breath and AVET Educational Consultative NGOs admitted the presidents and management representatives of National Youth Council of Moldova, National Youth Council of Georgia, political youth organization “Young right-wings of Georgia”, Sociological youth center of “Research of Public Opinion” and the Youth Parliamentary Center of Russia.
The leaders of mentioned authorized youth organizations visited Armenia in order to participate in the first meeting of the “Leaders of youth organizations of the Region” held in Yerevan.
Several issues concerning youth of the region were planned to be discussed. On the first day of the meeting, which took place at “Metropol” Hotel, a discussion was held around the facts of encroachment upon the historical-cultural values of Armenia in Georgia. Several local political parties were also invited for the event.

After the discussion Armen Grigoryan – Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs of RA accepted the participants of the event. Minister gave an importance to the organization of similar meetings and answered the questions of the participants concerning state youth policy, social issues of youth and other specific problems.
The second day of the meeting was dedicated to the regional youth cooperation, issues of mutual work of NGOs and state institutes. The participants have also discussed issues concerning the cooperation of youth organizations of the region and European institutes. The leaders of several international youth NGOs operating in Armenia also participated in these discussions.
On 29 of December Avet Adonts – the Chairman of NA Standing Committee on European Integration and Naira Zohrabyan – the Deputy Chairman of NA Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Youth and Sport Issues admitted the participants at the National Assembly. The deputies answered many questions concerning financing international youth programs, concerning student issues, activities of student councils and etc.
The participants of the meeting answered different questions of the journalists at the “Tesaket” (“Viewpoint”) journalistic club. At the end the journalists were prized in the categories of “Best Journalist” and “Best Mass Media” of 2008 for covering youth issues in the best way.
At the end, a meeting was held with the students at the “Metropol” hotel, where many students from different universities were participating.
Despite the pre-holiday activities the participants visited Tsitsernakaberd, where they gave their tribute to the victims of Armenian Genocide.
